Catskill Weekender was looking to brand itself as a community hub for people looking to escape the mad rush of city life and enjoy relaxing trips to the country. The Catskills are located two hours north of New York City and is a popular spot for weekend getaways.
Founder, KJ Prince, reached out to me to help him give a face to his organization.Catskill Weekender’s main focus is to be a central location where people visiting the area can book hotel rooms, camp sites, register for local activities, and simply learn about the area.
KJ wanted the logotype to be warm and inviting, while giving off a sense of adventure. In the end, I utilized a bold script and set the letterforms at a slight angle to accentuate the idea of movement and adventure. Catskill Weekender’s audience tends to lean more on the adventurous side. The overall attitude of the logotype was driven by classic National Park signage. The logotype was then applied across the brand and several forms of merchandise.
